We are slightly gutted!
Yesterday morning was the first time that the new Raspberry PI mini computer went on sale to the general public. I think it can be safely said that the project was a tad oversubscribed!
High Demand Crashes Websites
The two retail outlet, chosen by the project: Premier Farnell and RS Components, simply were not geared up for the community's interest. Considering that they are the two largest online retailers of electronic components in the UK, you would have thought they would have planned ahead a little (some could say they were not to know), however, their websites crashed or were inaccessible for the majority of yesterday.
Kind of gutting for the people who woke up at 6am to try and get one of these special little devices (everyone in the studio included). Anyway an expression of interest has been entered and we hope to get our hands on a PI very soon.
